Lee Mercer 1972 - 1975

What I did

I remember Radio Hillingdon with fondness. I remember doing lots of shows but particularly one on New Year's Eve. Also during the early seventies lots of General Election nights when we got the results from the telly and broadcast them as if we had been there. Amazing really wasn't it.

I remember starting the station at St Bernards with Colin Clements, Jim Phillips, David Brown plus others from RH. Seem to remember it was rather spooky going down those basement corridors at St Bernards.

Where Am I now?

I have been around a bit since the RH days worked at several jobs 1970 - 1977 but eventually joined BA and stayed for 14 years, during that time I set up my own business in West Drayton doing TV Aerials and Satellite installations. Left BA in 1991 and went full time with my own business called Heathrow Systems. The business was sold out and taken over in 1995 when I semi retired doing some odd jobs and a bit of teaching.

Dragged out by Channel 5 for a couple of weeks to help when they launched. Stayed for two years and then got head hunted to Sky TV where I've been for the last 4 years. I'm responsible for Communal Aerials.

You may remember Wendy Morris who was one of the nurses that frequented the social club. Well we got married in 1976 and have 1 daughter, now aged 19. We are now all living at White Waltham near Maidenhead.
